Newton - Early Intervention
The Newton Department at ACE is a hub of innovation and creativity, dedicated to early intervention for children with autism catering age group 2 years to 6 years.
Our vibrant team focuses on building essential life skills, such as toilet training, handwashing, and toothbrushing, empowering children to become more independent in their daily lives. But at Newton, we go beyond just basic skills—we integrate academic development and creative learning into every child’s routine.
1. Basic foundational skills emphasising development of following simple directives, sitting tolerance, visual tracking, matching skills, sorting skills, imitation skills, waiting skills and play skills are focussed on here.
2. Toilet readiness and independence in basic daily living skills is also a priority in the early intervention group.
3. Cognitive Development-Our program prioritizes cognitive growth through the development of key skills like joint attention and the ability to follow directives, laying the groundwork for more advanced learning.
4. Functional Communication Training-Newton also emphasizes vital communication and cognitive development, offering foundational training in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), manual signs, and vocalization to support expressive and receptive communication from the start.
5. Social Skills-Through fun and engaging activities like social story time, calendar sessions, and rhyme time, we nurture core academic skills that help children thrive. Majorly calendar and group times and social story time at Newton emphasize teaching essential social skills, such as waiting, turn-taking, and responding to instructions, while also incorporating play skills that foster social engagement. This structured approach not only aids in skill development but also encourages children to interact positively with their peers.
At Newton, every day is an opportunity for children to learn, grow, and unlock their full potential in a supportive and dynamic environment.
