Our Therapies
At ACE, Individualized Educational Programs (IEP) are developed for each student after assessments. Each IEP incorporates a broad range of goals which are targeted through ABA-based programs and curriculum. The following services provide the foundation for ACE’s unique integrated program:
Evidence based, data oriented approach towards interventions targeting behaviour management by reducing rates of challenging behaviour while simultaneously increasing rates of socially appropriate behaviour
BEHAVIOUR MODIFICATION
OT services focusing on sensory integration and daily living skills are delivered through a consultative, integrated model. OT needs are addressed through specialized OT services as well as classroom OT goals.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Programs are based on individual need and ability and include vocal speech, manual signs, PECS programs and other augmented communication strategies. Teaching methods include 1:1 discrete trials, incidental teaching opportunities and group activities.
COMMUNICATION THERAPY
Activities of daily living (ADLs) such as toileting, meal skills, toothbrushing etc.; and vocational and community goals are taught using a variety of teaching strategies including task analyses, discrete trial training and incidental teaching opportunities. Students are provided with multiple opportunities across the day to practice the skills and are provided with real-life situations to transfer and generalize skills across environments.

SOCIAL SKILLS
Leisure and play skills including independent functional play, turn taking, team based sport activities and group games are taught across the day in both 1:1 sessions and during group time.
