Mozart Pre Vocational
Named after Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a legendary composer and symbol of creativity and brilliance, the Mozart Classroom is devoted to nurturing children aged 7 to 10 with autism and related developmental challenges. Embracing the unique strengths of neurodiverse learners, we provide a dynamic and supportive environment that encourages creativity, exploration, and growth.
Our program is tailored to inspire confidence, cultivate social connections, and empower each child to unlock their potential through individualized learning experiences.
Core Areas of Focus:
1. Social and group skills are developed through structured peer interactions, promoting meaningful engagement with peers. Students are encouraged to participate in group activities that emphasize turn-taking, waiting, and sharing, fostering a sense of cooperation.
2. Leisure skills- helping children explore hobbies, relax, and build independence. Promoting these skills involves introducing structured activities like art, music, or sports while providing visual supports and clear instructions with it. Developing leisure skills enhances emotional well-being, improves focus, and fosters social connections through shared interests.
3. Fading proximity—reducing the need for adult support and supervision—encouraging children to take initiative and become more self reliant.
4. Emotional development- nurtured through activities that foster emotional understanding, helping students recognize and learn emotions; and express their feelings, an essential component for social interactions.
5. Building consistency for toileting routines along with prime focus put on other necessary daily living skills. This develops reliable routines that foster self-care, promoting greater autonomy.
